Michigan: Named
for the home state of the town's
founders. It is located in the north central part of the county
in Michigan Township at the junction of US Highway 2 and State
Route 35. It is on the Burlington Northern's main railroad line,
but the town no longer has a depot. The latest population figure
is 345. |

Pekin: Pekin
is located in the southwestern part of the county in Osago Township.
It lies near the junction of State Highway 1 and State Highway 15 and
is just a few miles south of Stump Lake. The latest population figure
is 80. |

Petersburg: Petersburg
is located in Petersburg Township in the eastern part of the
county. It lies at the junction of US Highway 2 and State Route
32 and is on the Burlington Northern's main railroad line but
there is no depot. The latest population figure is 195. |

Tolna: Tolna
is in Dayton Township about one mile north of State Route 15 and
a few miles south of Stump Lake. It is located in the extreme western
part of the county. The latest population figures show a total
of 202 people. |

Whitman: Located
in Sarnia Township in the northern part of the county on State
Route 35 about ten miles north of Michigan. Served by Northern
Plains Railroad. No population figures are available indicating
a probable population less than 20. |
